Goals

Confucius once said, "When it is obvious that goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps". I am a seventeen year old high school student that has not decided what he wants to accomplish in life. Senior year is important for me because I will be forced to step up and take control over my life and how it will affect me in the future. In order to follow my aspirations in life, I have created a list of goals that will help me progress in the future and help me follow my goals.
High school is an important part in a students life. They don't know where they're going to go after they graduate, where they're going to live, or worried about leaving the ones they love. It is a really stressful period that takes a lot of thinking.I want to raise my GPA. GPA is a very important factor in the college application process. Most colleges have requirements in order to get in. Over the past couple of years I really haven't paid any attention to my GPA but now I'm going to focus all of my effort into it. I also want to make this the best year since I have been here. I want to try new things, meet new people, go new places. I have been bottled up the past three years but now I'm going to change that.
In about 4-8 years I see myself graduating college and having a good job. I want to get out and live on my own. Hopefully I will have a good degree and a job where I can do such that. I would love to be independent and be responsible of my life and what I do.
I want to look back at my life knowing that I accomplished a lot. In the future,  I see myself getting married and eventually having children of my own. I would love to watch them grow up and accomplish their own goals. My goal is to become a business major and be a CEO or Manager of a company.
I have a lot of work to do if I am ever going to reach these goals. It will be a lot of hard work, but I know that in the end, it will all be worth it. "The keys to patience are acceptance and faith. Accept things as they are and look realistically at the world around you. Have faith in yourself and in the direction you have chosen."- Ralph Marston
